GEICO and Macy’s announced a new partnership marking the company’s first-ever Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade appearance for the 100th march. GEICO will debut the Road Trip to Parade float, bringing the GEICO Gecko and friends on a journey to the streets of New York City to help kick off the holiday season.
Timed to GEICO’s 90th anniversary, the float reunites GEICO’s most recognizable advertising icons, led by the GEICO Gecko – the little green lizard born in 1999 from the way people kept mispronouncing “GEICO” – and joined by the Caveman, Caleb the “Hump Day” camel and Maxwell the Pig, going “wee, wee, wee” all the way home. Designed by Macy’s Studios artisans, the float illustrates a classic American road trip and celebrates 90 years of GEICO helping customers protect what matters most while highlighting the journeys that connect families, friends and communities.

Ahead of Thanksgiving, the Gecko will embark on a 10-week cross-country road trip from San Francisco to New York City, making stops in 12 cities along the way. Fans will be able to follow his travels, share recommendations and help shape the route as he discovers local landmarks, food, traditions and surprises across the U.S.
Throughout the fall, GEICO will share content from the road and offer behind-the-scenes looks at the creation of its Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade float, including the design, artistry and craftsmanship that bring the experience to life.
Audiences nationwide can watch the 100th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on Thursday, November 26 on NBC, Peacock and Telemundo starting at 8:30 a.m. in all time zones.
