Apptegy Partners With Level Access to Bring Accessibility Personalization to K-12 District Websites

Apptegy, the K-12 communications platform used by more than 5,250 school districts, today announced a strategic partnership with Level Access, a leading provider of digital accessibility solutions. The partnership brings select Level Access’ accessibility capabilities directly into Apptegy’s platform, giving districts an easy way to address common accessibility issues across their websites.

A district’s website is often the first place communities go for information about their schools, but most weren’t built with accessibility in mind. Missing image descriptions, low color contrast, and documents that are difficult to navigate don’t just create legal risk under the ADA and Section 504 — they shut out real people; a parent with low vision, a grandparent who has trouble navigating by mouse, a community member who just wants tonight’s game time but can’t read the font it’s listed in. And, with new ADA Title II requirements taking effect starting in April 2027, districts are hard-pressed to find solutions to help their teams improve accessibility.

With this new partnership, visitors will be able to easily adjust their own experience — larger text, higher contrast, reading guides, and voice navigation — available in more than 50 languages. Behind the scenes, Level Access’ technology also scans for common page-level accessibility issues upon page load, automatically applying remediation techniques to address many of them, including missing alt text, low contrast, and potential navigation barriers.

“Accessibility shouldn’t be something a district bolts on after the fact — it has to be part of the strategy from day one. Our mission has always been to make every person in a district a better communicator, and that only works if everyone in the community can actually receive what’s being communicated. As new accessibility demands land on districts, partnering with Level Access lets us further meet that moment for every district, without asking them to take on another vendor or another dashboard to manage,” said Bob Butler, CEO of Apptegy.

“We’re excited to partner with Apptegy to open new avenues for accessibility across K-12 communities,” said Peter Cummings, VP Global Partners at Level Access. “By bringing Level Access capabilities into Apptegy’s platform, we’re helping schools and districts make accessibility and personalization a more integrated part of how they connect with every family, student, and community member.”

What this means for participating districts:

  • Less manual work for staff. The technology automatically identifies and applies automated remediation for many common accessibility issues — missing alt text, low contrast, broken navigation — so staff aren’t tracking each one down individually.
  • A website that can adapt to every visitor. Anyone on the site can adjust text size and contrast, access reading guides, or turn on voice navigation, in more than 50 languages.
  • Ongoing accessibility scanning, not a one-time review. The technology keeps working as districts publish new pages, catching accessibility issues as they come up — not just during an initial scan.

Accessibility functionality from Level Access is now available through Apptegy to K-12 school districts. Districts who want to see it in action can contact their Apptegy team or visit apptegy.com/level-access.
