Outdoor Retailer held its first Minneapolis edition from August 19 to 21 at the Minneapolis Convention Center, with the exhibit hall open on August 20 and 21. SUNSHINE organized its seating display around two product-development priorities now shaping portable outdoor furniture: reducing the burden of transport and offering more precise levels of comfort.
The ultralight chair range emphasized simple structures, compact packed dimensions and lower carrying weight. The concepts were developed for settings that require frequent movement or limited storage, including hiking, short outdoor trips and family camping. By presenting several constructions rather than a single chair format, SUNSHINE showed how brands can adjust materials, frame design and features to suit a defined use case.
The high-back folding chair range addressed a wider spread of comfort and price requirements. Premium models used supportive elastic fabrics and adjustable reclining structures that allow users to select and lock a preferred sitting angle. Mid-tier models used steel- or aluminum-tube constructions intended to balance durability, portability and cost. Together, the products demonstrated how a seating assortment can cover distinct customer groups without relying on one specification for every market.
